Apple bringing 3D Video/Photo Technology to iPhone 5 – Tech6i

by Jimmi on May 11, 2011

These days 3D’s craze is everywhere, since the Nintendo has come up with it’s 3D Equipped 3DS, everybody is rushing for it and it seems like whole World has become crazy and excited with this 3D Technology. This has come up with very good impact and many Android-Powered Phones from different manufacturer are coming out with 3D Technology in upcoming months, so be waited and be patient for the good stuff coming out in next few months.

A news is also out from AppleInsider that Apple’s been also thinking to add 3D photo taking capabilities to iPhone and iPad for some time now. A patent application that’s fully capable of taking photos in 3D has been developed by the US Patent and Trademark Office from Cupertino. This patent maden is named as “Systems and Methods for an Imaging System Using Multiple Image Sensors” and it’s possibly be used two rear-facing cameras to create a 3D image just as the 3DS does. Well if we checkout the Apple’s solution then it would take a hardware-based approach to stitching together the two images taken by the twin cameras whereas current 3D-capable machines go for a software approach.

Apple believes this can introduce unwanted artifacts which they believe a hardware solution would cure. The patent also allows for the recording of 3D video – a prospect much more appealing to us here at MOBiRESORTZ than taking still pictures.
